Home Style Chicken Curry


  • 1kg cubed chicken
  • 5 tbsp oil
  • 1 sliced onion
  • 3 tomatoes (chopped)
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • ½ tbsp crushed ginger
  • ½ tbsp crushed garlic
  • 2 tsp garam masala
  • 3 bay leaves
  • 1 stick cinnamon
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp chilli powder
  • 3 tbsp double cream
  • Fresh coriander
  • 3 green chillies
  • Salt to taste


  1. Heat oil then add cinnamon sticks and bay leaves.
  2. As soon as it sizzles add onions. Fry until golden brown.
  3. Add tomatoes, tomato paste, ginger, garlic, turmeric, garam masala, salt, and chilli powder.
  4. Cook until oil separates from mixture.
  5. Add chicken and mix well. Cover and cook on medium heat until chicken is tender and cooked throughout.
  6. Add the cream and stir.
  7. Garnish with coriander and sliced green chillies.
  8. Serve hot with naan or rice.
